Hello & welcome! My name's Mindy from Los Angeles, California, and I teach English with a native U.S. accent. I've been using Italki for years as both a teacher and student—I love it here!
I'm an architect & writer who's been traveling since 2018; I love meeting people from around the world, and I'm here to help you improve your English—building up your speaking confidence, expanding your vocabulary, explaining the quirky grammar and nuances of English.

My goal is to help you feel confident and powerful when you speak English, to bring your language-learning to life. Because I'm also a language-learner myself, I'm familiar with the process of leveling up your language ability, from the breakthroughs to the plateaus and pitfalls. I believe in the power of immersion to learn language quickly, and I'll encourage you to speak and communicate throughout class, no matter what your level.
I've been teaching English online since 2019, with 5500 classes and counting, and I love to see my students improve and succeed. More than anything else, language-learning should be fun!Мои уроки и стиль преподавания
My lessons are centered around conversation—we can talk about your interests and hobbies, news and currents events, travel adventures, and more. We can also use song lyrics, movie clips, news articles, and short stories, depending on your level and goals. For example, music is a powerful way to learn language (especially in the beginner-intermediate stage) and reading engaging stories is a great way to boost reading fluency.
In the trial lesson, we'll talk about your current level, your dreams and goals for improving your English, and your interests, and build your language-learning game plan from there. Let's go!Мой учебный материал

The attached document consists of two parts: (1) verification of my status as a teacher contracted with the VIPKID platform teaching English online to students in China from 2019-2022, and (2) statistics showing my overall experience teaching 2804 classes to 1258 students during that time period. Before booking classes with Mindy, I didn't know if I would be able to learn American Accent in depth. As a teacher myself, I would say that not only she is an amazing teacher but her dedication is beyond amazing.
