Hi there! I'm Martina, and I'm a professional Italian teacher and linguist from Italy. Getting to know other countries, people, traditions and languages is my biggest passion! Which is why I've traveled quite a bit, and I try to visit new places whenever I can. My other passions/hobbies include food (I've also worked as a pastry chef!), crafts (painting, jewelry making, embroidery...), hiking (I live in a national park after all) and studying new languages. Besides Italian, I can also speak English and a bit of Japanese, which was my major in college. My personality type is quiet and easy-going, but I am very passionate about what I care about or find interesting (like languages).

I'm a very patient teacher, I always make sure that my students fully get the point at hand before moving onto the next one. I take my time and try to be as clear as possible, using simple language appropriate for the student's level. My students are always welcome to suggest a topic for discussion, whatever they might be most interested in, or a specific grammar rule etc., I do my best to take every request! As you can see, I can speak English so it won't be a problem if you're a beginner! 日本語がちょっとできますから、日本人にも教えられる!英語ができなくても大丈夫~

My lessons are, of course, always customized: we can start by taking a test to see what level you're in, and go from there! The second, essential step, is to discuss what your goals are, and how to achieve them, I want the process to be completely transparent to you. I can teach Italian 2 ways: we can just do conversation, especially if your level is more advanced, or we can start from a more classic lesson, including for example reading texts, listening to audio files, dialogues, and exercises. Don't forget about fun activities! I'll find material according to your interests, so it'll never be boring! We can watch videos together and discuss, listen to songs, exchange delicious recipes...;)

Always enjoyed my lessons with Martina! Time flies by so quickly and there’s always many opportunities to speak and express myself. Appreciate the patience from Martina while I struggle to form sentences and she makes me feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them. I’ve made a lot of progress since I first started from scratch in Italian. It’s exciting to now be able to read and discuss news written in simple Italian. Other than speaking, I also get to practise listening and writing skills. I feel like I can catch spoken Italian much more than ever. Looking forward to the next lesson!

Martina è una insegnante meravigliosa se vuoi imparare l'italiano. Ho avuto delle lezioni con lei da 1 anno, e non cambierei mai di professoressa. È gentile e molto paziente quando provo a parlare - quello che faccio lentamente perché non ho un livello molto alto! :) Ho avanzato velocemente grazie a lei.
