My name is Paola, and I was born in Italy, where I currently live.
I am a certified teacher of Italian as a Foreign Language (certification name: CEDILS). I have a BA in Classical Studies and an MA in Archaeology and Cultures of the Ancient World. At the moment, I am also a secondary school teacher, teaching Italian, Latin, History, and Geography.
Ever since I was a little girl, I've always felt a strong passion for the humanities and the history of humankind in its various forms - from art to literature, from architecture to the simple objects of everyday life. But more than anything else, I've felt the need to communicate and share what nourished me.Показать перевод

My studies and the work experiences have allowed me to have a cross-disciplinary approach to knowledge and to increase my teaching skills, being able to create a deep connection between me and my students.

👉 My lessons are based on a communicative approach: we will have conversations in Italian! I’ll adapt my method to your needs and abilities. For me, knowledge is not the transmission of information, but a construction of understanding built together step by step.
👉 I’ll provide you with personalized teaching materials: PowerPoint presentations created by me, PDFs with texts, grammar and culture books, educational videos, etc. I will also give you plenty of recommendations for books, movies, YouTube channels and podcasts.

Paola is the perfect teacher: always interesting to talk to about everything, patient, friendly, intelligent and knowledgeable. The different subjects and materials she brings to class are always fascinating - from poetry and literature to history or world news - and she knows how to adapt her lessons to my interests and needs. The past few lessons in which we translated poems from Latin to Italian have been a delight. I always look forward to our weekly class :)

I love her classes so much! It is fantastic to learn so much about Roman history in Italian! She knows so so much, and it is enjoyable to listen to all of her stories about Ancient Rome and modern Italy!!! I can’t wait for my next class!

Studying Italian with Paola has been truly delightful. I felt immediately comfortable with her as she is so patient, clear, gentle with corrections, and easy to talk to. I appreciate how quickly she picked up on my interests, and as a result I genuinely enjoy doing my homework :) I always look forward to her lessons, Paola is a class act.

After three lessons with Paola, I want to share my enthusiasm for her with other students of Italian. I love talking with her. Her interest in literature, and classics in particular, is something I really appreciate. Paola speaks Latin! This has made it possible for us to read some famous Latin poems (Carpe Diem!) in the original. Thank you, Paola, it feels like a big journey is beginning.
