Hiyori 日和

日和先生は一番先生！ 今日のクラスはとても楽しくて、手伝います！ She is very kind and super fun to work with. She pushes me to the next level and motivates me to keep going.

It just occurred to me that Hiyoriさん has an incredible ability to draw out (of me) some fairly complicated grammar and vocab during our conversations. I'm realizing that it's normally with Hiyoriさん that I use a grammar concept or word for the first time. These grammar concepts might be something I've heard passively, and because of the topics we speak about, I finally have the ability to attempt to use them. As a consequence, I feel so accomplished when I do so, and that's thanks to Hiyoriさん's skills as a conversationalist.

Hiyori and I have been over halfway through Genki II! We do some catching up with small talk at the beginning of the lesson, then dive into Genki exercises. She provides me with a .pdf of new words we encounter in conversation, and it’s helpful because they’re very common phrases or words! Hiyori is very kind, easy to talk to, and I like how she pushes me. She is very skilled at identifying my level of comprehension, and and working with it. Thank you Hiyori Sensei!

Hiyori先生 is so easy to talk to and patient! She kindly accommodates my needs and adjusts to my beginner level. Talking with her makes me feel calm and relaxed, and I feel understood and heard. I also appreciate that she speaks only in Japanese, even when I don’t understand everything. She patiently waits until I understand and explains things in a simple way. This helps me fully immerse myself in the language and learn directly from her words. 毎授業本当に楽しくて勉強になります。ありがとうございます！

Great class. Learn new vocabulary.

This is around my 12th lesson with Hiyori, and I’m so glad to have her as my teacher! Today we went over Genki II exercises, did lots of speaking, and went over new words. She always sends new words to me in a pdf file, which I am very grateful for. She is a very skillful linguistic teacher! I would highly recommend her to everyone.
