Mauricio Mariano

Mauricio is more than a teacher, he was my damn therapist today. 😂 Literally one of the most versatile teachers I've had online. I've had well over 100 teachers through online Spanish classes and Mauricio just understands how to teach, connect, listen and just work on your weaknesses (he's great at spotting errors and areas you need to improve on by the way) but whatever topic you wanna talk about, he's all ears and shieeettt... He'll not just listen but give you some damn good advice and it's super fruitful not just for me personally but I learn this advice in Spanish so I can pass this information to my friends who only speak Spanish. Overall, he makes you feel confident with your Spanish which I think is SUPER important because as an introvert that has social anxiety, it's hard practicing a language when you don't even like to talk to people in general but he's easily my favorite teacher on iTalki and it's not even close. ¡Aprecio todo lo que has hecho por mi Mauricio!

Learned something new in class today—as always. 😁 Mauricio is one of the best teachers I’ve found here in iTalki so far. He knows his craft, he’s generous with corrections, and I always feel confident about speaking in Spanish despite my beginner level. 🙂

Mauricio is an excellent and highly professional teacher. He is very attentive to his students’ needs. I especially appreciate that he dedicates part of each lesson to conversation on a specific topic, which is an excellent complement to traditional grammar study and exercises.

Mauricio is a fantastic teacher. I signed onto his conversation classes just expecting simple corrections to my mistakes, but he always goes above and beyond with explaining the grammar (and can even name the specific tenses I'm struggling with). This is a lot more than what I've experienced with other Span teachers that do convo style classes (I've had many). He is also an extremely good listener and very empathetic. Te aprecio mucho Mauricio! tbvh I wish we could be friends in real life!

I’ve been working with Mauricio for probably a year now, and he is the best! Every week I look forward to our lessons - partly because the real-life practice helps motivate me to keep studying and partly because he’s just such a cool guy. Trying to speak a new language when you are a beginner can be extremely vulnerable, and I often feel like a toddler trying to put sentences together, but Mauricio has always been amazingly supportive. He’s also open to focusing on topics that are important to me and completely customizing our lessons. 11/10 recommend!
