My professional background is in education, but not in languages but in technical domains. This is is a little different than teaching in 1:1 settings, but I am still using several ideas from my other life also on italki. In den Jahren 2015/16 habe ich eine zusätzliche Ausbildung zum Trainer für Deutsch als Fremd- bzw. Zweitsprache gemacht. Ich habe dann zuerst in Österreich Deutschkurse für Asylwerber abgehalten. Seit 2016 unterrichte ich zunehmend auch im Internet. In 2015/16 I completed additional education as a trainer for German as a foreign or second language. Then I first taught German for asylum seekers in Austria. Since 2016 I have been teaching more and more online.

I can draw from my own experience of learning a language from scratch. I'm very patient and attentive, and I know exactly how it feels to learn a language - with all the success and the frustration that comes with it. While challenging, learning is always rewarding, and I'm excited to share my experiences with you.

Ich unterrichte seit dem Jahr 2005 und durfte ganz viele Erfahrungen sammeln in der Unterstufe, in der Mittelstufe, in der Oberstufe, in Kleinklassen in einer Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie u.s.w. Die letzten fünf Jahre habe ich in einer Primarschule im Raum Zürich unterrichtet, dort war ich als DaZ (Deutsch als Zweitsprache)-Lehrperson tätig, wo ich auch noch die DaZ-Ausbildung absolviert habe. Das Unterrichten macht mir sehr viel Spass, ich bin sehr motiviert und zielstrebig.

As someone who used to stutter and dislike languages (and especially the pesky grammar), getting into intense-self-studies to improve my English became my origin story. I worked as teacher for English in my hometown for 2 years afterward, after acquiring a C2 certificate from Cambridge. This encouraged me to also intensely study and re-fresh the German grammar, phonetics and teaching techniques (didactic) before starting to teach it online full-time. (it included a lot of head-shaking, and I’m a native) Through that, and my pursuit to master art I don’t believe in inherited talent, but pursued interest. Everyone can, through dedication, practice and fun, learn to speak a foreign language.
