Unlock Norwegian Language & Culture with a Native Speaker – Your Guide to Fluency My teaching style is based on each student individually, as I believe everyone is different and learns in different ways. My aim is to make the lessons fun and interesting, as I myself have found these to be important factors in retaining interest and engagement in lessons I have taught or been taught in the past. First of all it is important to me to know your goals before we start. There are many reasons why someone would like to learn Norwegian, maybe you have relatives living in Norway today, or perhaps your ancestors emigrated from Norway a long time ago? It may also be that you are planning a vacation to Norway so see the wonderful nature and experience the culture of the Vikings! Quite a few people would like to learn Norwegian well in order to get a job in Norway! Based on your goals I will make an individual curriculum that focus on what you need to learn in order to master the Norwegian language at a level that you need to succeed.

I have a good ear and have always been good with languages. I offer insights into Norwegian culture and social ways whilst being a curious, patient, open friendly teacher whom loves conversation. Not just in terms of the lessons themselves, but the work you do outside them. That could be reading, listening to podcasts or watching TV shows. Just taking lessons will make the road to mastering either Norwegian or English arduous.

As a teacher I focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere for the student, where you can make mistakes without worrying. I like to have informal conversations about whatever the student wants to talk about, of course in Norwegian. Any speaking practice is good!

I know how challenging it might be to start learning a new language, so here on italki I would like to help you as much as I can with your progress in Norwegian and also to keep your motivation up. During the first lesson I will be able to evaluate your Norwegian proficiency and understand your goals and expectations. Then we move on with learning whatever is important to you at that moment, anything from reading texts and grammar training to conversational practice and pronunciation. Forgetting words, long thinking pauses, or to mispronounce words - all of that is part of learning a new language, and with me as a teacher you get a space to improve your speaking abilities without worrying about such things.
