This class is for students who would like to improve their English reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with a focus on grammar and vocabulary. We will practice reading real English news articles and stories. We will also practice both academic writing and writing for daily-life. In this class, studying grammar will be fun! All levels welcome.

Japanese for Travelers

I completed the 12-hour training required to be a volunteer English tutor with the state of Minnesota, through the MN Literacy Council.

I double-majored in English and International Studies, and minored in Japanese Language & Culture.

In this class we will discuss what your goals are for your English conversational practice. We will assess your level and build an idea of what kinds of vocabulary you want to develop as well as any grammar you want to improve.

Ranging from beginner levels to intermediate to advanced, my classes offer conversational practice in English. I cater each class to the specific needs and desires of each particular student. If you have specific vocabulary you want to expand on, we can discuss the subjects that most interest you. We can also review or delve deeper into any grammar you may need to review or practice.

I studied global Studies with a minor in gender studies. I graduated with departamental honors and my thesis work received an honorable mention award. I am currently pursuing a masters program in Spain in gender studies.

When I was studying at The New School, I received a fellowship and grant that funded a summer research project in 2012 in China. I studies access to education for rural migrant children. As a way to offer back to the community from whom I was learning, I taught english in several migrant community centers and one privately run migrant school in the summer of 2011. I taught both in Shanghai and in Jianxi province.

In these sessions we will cover a mix of grammar, vocabulary and speaking. We can tailor the sessions to your needs and I will give you homework to work on between sessions. I recommend booking sessions at least once or twice a week and choosing a regular time to do them. Leaving too much time between sessions means you will not progress at a consistent pace.

The Master of Counselling is an award of a postgraduate degree
course taught and assessed in English. Graduates have developed the knowledge
and skills to practise as ethical counsellors in a range of health, workplace and
community settings and with clients across the lifespan.

I've tutored English online and in-person part-time to teenagers in Hong Kong (ages 13–18), focusing mainly on speaking and oral comprehension, helping them build confidence and improve pronunciation.
