Interview Preparation and Coaching

This is an OFFLINE service (no Skype or Zoom session) where you can send me ONE Task 1 and ONE Task 2 essay (academic or general), typed into a Microsoft Word file. I will proofread and correct your essays, and also give you some feedback with a projected score for your original essay. PLease read the following instructions:

1) Please book this service (the time and date do not matter as this is an OFFLINE service), then send me a message here on italki and I will send you some sample Task 1 & 2 questions for you to select ONE question from each task.

2) Proceed to type your Task 1 & 2 answers into a Microsoft Word file and remember to let me know the question that you are answering for my reference.

3) Send your Word file using the italki messaging system.

4) I will attempt to return your corrected file, complete with my feedback and a projected score the same working day. However, if I am fully booked with classes for that day, I will send it back to you the following day.

(OFFLINE) IELTS Writing - Correction & Feedback Service

In this lesson, I will help you develop your conversation skills by introducing you to a topic on which we can have a discussion. I will send you some learning material before your class begins so you can read it and prepare for the session. Throughout your lesson, I will correct any mistakes that you make, suggest new vocabulary and use the message box to type notes for you to review after the session.
I cover the following areas: general conversation, new vocabulary and word definitions, idioms / phrasal verbs, reading practice, vocabulary check (of reading material), comprehension check (of reading material), vocabulary building. Alternatively, if you have your own material or ideas then please let me know.

English Conversation

I am a qualified IELTS tutor with an excellent record of helping students achieve at least a band 7.0 in their IELTS exam. Below, I will explain how I teach each section of the IELTS exam to ensure you are fully prepared for any type of question you will face in the real exam.

SPEAKING-
I will use real IELTS speaking questions from the most recent IELTS exams. I will ask you some questions from all parts and allow you to answer as if you were in the real exam. I will then give you some feedback on your answer, and if necessary, tell you how it could be improved.
LISTENING-
In this part of the IELTS test, you need to know about the specific technique that you must use to answer each section of the listening test. I will provide you with some sample listening tests which we will go through where I carefully explain what you need to do to pass with a high score. By the end of my class(es), you will feel 100% more confident in answering this part of the exam.
READING-
The reading section of IELTS is all about technique and recognising synonyms and synonymous  phrases. I will teach you how to skim read and use your time in the exam effectively to find all the correct answers. I will use genuine past papers to demonstrate the techniques you need to learn and you will pass your exam with the score you deserve.
WRITING-
I have compiled several files containing sample Task 1 and Task 2 questions (academic and general). Before your first class, I can send you these files, and if you have time, you can write some practice essays to send to me before or during your class with me. During the class, I will go through and correct/comment on your writing and give you a predicted score. If you do not have time to write anything outside of the lesson time, I will use the time during our class to analyse various sample questions and then present a sample essay to you for discussion.

IELTS preparation lesson for Band 7.0 or above

This can be an online or offline proofreading service for any type of document in Microsoft Word format. I charge a very competitive US$0.025 per word (for offline work). Please see the details below on how to book this session as I will have to change the price according to what you need:

For a one hour face to face session on Skype/Zoom (as many words as can be corrected in one hour- normally about 1,000 to 1,500 words), the session price would be US$25.99.

For offline corrections, I charge US$ 0.025 (2.5 US cents) per word. For example: 1,000 words would cost $25.00.

Booking instructions:

1) Please book a session for any dat, time and session length that is free on my schedule (but preferably at least 48 hours in advance) for an offline session.

2) Then, send a separate message to me here on the italki messaging system and indicate the number of words in your document that require proofreading, along with your deadline. Please also indicate if you would like me to proofread your document online or offline. Then, please send your document via the italki messaging system.

3) I will then adjust the price according to the word count, or to an hourly rate ($25.99 for 60 mins) if you require an online session. Please then accept the new price.

Classes are for any young student, aged 3 - 18 years old. My Young Student’s classes are STUDENT-CENTRED, tailored to your child to ensure they are FUN, ENJOYABLE and INTERESTING at the APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF ABILITY, boosting their MOTIVATION to learn. 
Classes usually start out with conversation (speaking and listening) using questions matched to their level of comprehension, to explore their range of ability. I might incorporate singing and story reading if they are younger. 
I like to introduce reading with PHONICS as soon as possible using the Oxford Reading Tree Songbirds series to develop their pronunciation and vocabulary. 
For students with strong basic reading skills, we can explore reading material that matches their ability with their interests. 
Writing exercises are excellent for homework and later review in class, to develop spelling and grammar. 
I also provide preparation for exams such as Cambridge, starting from the Young Learners English (YLE) all the way up.

Informal Tutoring

You will learn conversational skills, vocabulary, and grammar.  If you want, you can also work on writing skills.  We could also discuss videos or articles.  I teach students of all ages and English levels.

I can also help you review college/university writing assignments.  I will not write the assignments for you, but we can review your writing in class and think of ways to improve it.

General English

Completed 130 hours of online TEFL training with i-to-i TEFL.  This included a 10 hour Business English TEFL training module.

I am currently an Master of Arts ("M.A.") in Teaching English as a Foreign Language ("TEFL") student at the American University of Armenia ("AUA").

I taught Legal English and Business English.

I taught English to non-native English speakers at the American University of Armenia's Extension Program in Yerevan, Armenia. I mainly taught General English and Business English to Intermediate and Upper Intermediate Level students.

In my IELTS Writing classes, I’ll guide you in refining your writing skills to achieve a higher score on both Task 1 and Task 2. In this role, I conducted research for my PhD at the University of Queensland, focusing on sociology & economics. I designed studies, analyzed data, and contributed to academic publications. I collaborated with faculty, attended seminars, and integrated feedback to refine my work. I managed research projects, stayed current with relevant literature, and presented findings. My responsibilities included writing research papers and engaging in academic discussions to advance knowledge in my field.

In this role, I taught IELTS preparation, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. I designed personalized lessons to improve students’ language proficiency, assessed their progress, and provided targeted feedback. I helped students develop test-taking strategies, build confidence, and enhance their performance. My responsibilities included creating practice materials, conducting mock tests, and ensuring alignment with IELTS exam requirements to achieve optimal results.
