La Tarasca es una criatura mitológica que se menciona en los relatos del Caribe colombiano, especialmente en la región de los Montes de María. Se describe como una especie de dragón o serpiente gigante con un apetito voraz. Según la leyenda, la Tarasca vive en las cuevas de las montañas y sale en busca de animales o incluso personas para devorar.

A menudo, los lugareños escuchan su rugido aterrador en las noches de tormenta, cuando baja de las montañas en busca de presas. Se dice que es casi imposible escapar de la Tarasca, ya que es muy rápida y fuerte. Sin embargo, hay quienes creen que la única forma de derrotarla es encontrando su corazón, que está escondido fuera de su cuerpo, en algún lugar del bosque.

Los ancianos de los pueblos cercanos cuentan que cada ciertos años alguien logra herir a la Tarasca, pero nunca se ha confirmado si la criatura puede ser destruida por completo.

Building Rapport

Ask Open-Ended Questions:  Ditch the "yes or no" questions.  Instead, ask questions that prompt elaboration and showcase your genuine interest in the other person's work and experiences. Examples include: "What are you currently working on that excites you the most?" or "What challenges are you facing in your industry?"

Actively Listen and Respond:  Pay close attention to their answers.  Nod, use verbal affirmations like "interesting" or "I see," and ask follow-up questions that demonstrate you're truly engaged.

Find Common Ground:  Look for shared interests, experiences, or industry knowledge. This creates a sense of connection and makes conversation flow more naturally. Mention a mutual colleague, a recent industry trend, or a shared alma mater (if appropriate).

Be a Giver, Not Just a Taker:  Networking is a two-way street. Offer your own insights, share relevant resources, or connect them with someone in your network who might be of value.

Remember Names and Details:  People appreciate being remembered.  Make a conscious effort to memorize names and revisit key points mentioned during the conversation.

Embrace Storytelling:  Weave relatable anecdotes or personal experiences into your conversation to illustrate your points and create a more memorable interaction.

Be Authentic and Positive:   People connect with genuine personalities.   Be yourself, showcase your enthusiasm, and maintain a positive outlook

Follow Up:  Don't let the connection fade. Send a personalized email within 24 hours thanking them for the conversation and mentioning a specific detail you discussed.

Nurture the Relationship:  Stay connected on LinkedIn, send them relevant articles, or offer congratulations on their achievements. This demonstrates your continued interest and builds a stronger bond.
