私は中学生の時、陸上部（りくじょう　ぶ）に所属（しょぞく）していた。入った理由は、私がクラスの女子の中で足が一番速く、友達に誘（さそ）われたからだ。練習を始めた種目（しゅもく）は、中距離（ちゅうきょり）の1500m走だ。
毎日放課後はトレーニングで6～10km（キロメートル）走り、土日も部活動に励（はげ）んでいた。足の爪（つめ）がよく内出血（ない　しゅっけつ）していたほどだ。いつも部活が終わるのは18時ごろで毎日ヘトヘトだったが、帰宅途中に友達とコロッケを買い食（ぐ）いするのが至福（しふく）のひと時だった。
