最近、桜が咲き始めたというニュースを見るようになりました。
東京の 桜は ２８日ごろ 満開に なるそうです。
日本にいたときは桜を見て、春が来たことを感じていました。
日本で桜を見たいという生徒さんの声をよく聞きます。
この2年はコロナのせいで、外国人は日本に旅行することができませんでした。来年の春は外国人のみなさんも日本で桜を楽しむことができればいいですね。
ところで、みなさんは「花より団子（だんご）」という言葉を知っていますか？
食べられない花より、団子のほうがいいという意味のことわざです。
ちなみに私は両方楽しみたい派（は）です。桜を見て、桜餅（さくらもち）を食べることは私の春の楽しみの一つです。

花より団子 ≈ Bread is better than the songs of birds.

咲き始める：さきはじめる　start blooming
満開：まんかい　full bloom
