Hello everyone, my name is Penny, welcome to this channel. In this channel, I will share with you wisdoms of Chinese thinkers and philosophers from the past.
《黄帝内经》是中国最早的一本医学书籍。这本书中讲到冬天人们该怎么保持健康的时候说,建议大家“早卧晚起,必待日光”。也就是说,要早一点睡觉,晚一点起床,等到天亮了以后,再起床活动。
The Yellow Emperor’s Cannon of Medicine is the earliest book of medicine in ancient China. In this book, it talked about how we can remain healthy in winter. We need to sleep early and wake up late, until the sun rises.
为什么呢?古代中国人认为,人和天地万物的生长节奏一致的时候,最容易保持健康。冬天整个自然界都是“闭藏”的状态,也就是停止一切不必要的活动,用来休息和养生。
Why? Ancient Chinese believed human has the best health when rhyme with the nature. In winter, the whole nature is reserved and enclosed. So we need to stop any unnecessary activities in order to rest and cultivate better health.
当然,古代中国人讲的是在北半球温带平原的农耕民族。不过,天冷的时候停止活动,休息自己的身心的道理,是适合所有人的。
Certainly, this refers to the farming ethnic in temperate plain area in the old times. However, stopping excessive activities when it’s getting cold is good for health can suit everyone.
