Você está familiarizado com as regras do plural? Este episódio tem por objetivo fazer com que você se sinta mais preparado ao utilizar as regrinhas dessa parte da gramática que é fundamental para a desenvoltura de sua fluência. 

O português assim como outras línguas românicas tem o plural como um papel importante na fala e escrita. A maior parte das classes de palavras são pluralizadas, como verbo, pronome, substantivo, adjetivo, numeral e artigo. 

Um dos aspectos interessantes do plural é que em alguns casos, a palavra poderá mudar em sua pronúncia ao pluralizá-la. Exemplo: ao pronunciar a palavra ovo no singular, o som da primeira vogal é fechado, porém ao pluralizá-las teremos o som aberto, ovos. Podemos utilizar essa regra com várias palavras terminadas em O, como: corpo/corpos, esforço/esforços, fogo/fogos, olho/olhos, osso/ossos, posto/postos, gostoso/gostosos (nesse caso, percebe-se que é na segunda sílaba que muda a pronuncia de aberta pra fechada) e tijolo/tijolos. CAROL: Oh, yeah! I almost forgot. I need a book of stamps, too.
POSTAL CLERK: OK, your total comes to $20.35
[twenty dollars and thirty-five cents].


LANGUAGE NOTES
• What can I do for you today? Notice that this question starts with “What,” so the 
intonation drops at the end of the question.
• Or you can send it priority … Notice the stress on “or,” which emphasizes that there is 
another possibility.
• $11.35 ... $20.35 Notice the two different ways the postal clerk says the price. First he 
says eleven thirty-five (without the words dollars and cents), then he says twenty dollars 
and thirty-five cents.
• Oh, yeah! is an expression used here to mean “I just remembered something.” It’s often 
followed by “I almost forgot.”
• Your total comes to … is a way of saying “the cost is ….”

前回のPodcastでは、3.11について話しました。
2011年の3/11、東日本大震災がありました。

それまでも日本は地震が多い国でしたが、この震災をきっかけにさらにいろんなことが変わりました。

建物の耐震基準を強化しました。
耐震は地震に耐える、ということです。

既存の建物の耐震性の診断と改修が促進されました。
今ある建物が大丈夫か調べます。問題があればなおします。

防災意識が高まりました。
防災訓練を真剣にしたり、家に水などを備蓄、置いておいたりして、いつ震災があってもいいように準備をします。


地震と聞けば怖い、と思いますが、大きな地震でなければ、日本は全く問題がない、安全な国です。
