If you’ve found the perfect company to work for, you don’t need to land the perfect job…yet. After all, even if you’re in a less-than-perfect position, you can apply for a more suitable job internally as soon as it opens. By then, you will have had the chance to show your quality of work, work ethic, and commitment to the company, making you an ideal candidate.

While interviewing for an internal position is a wonderful opportunity, it includes unique challenges. One of the biggest mistakes people make when interviewing internally is failing to prepare adequately. They may believe the interview is simply a formality, and they have the job in the bag. Their interviewer may be familiar with their work, so they may not arrive prepared to talk about the specifics of their contributions. And finally, they may have a friendly relationship with the interviewer and treat the interview too casually.

How to Prepare for an Internal Job Interview

🌑 La Casa del Número 47 🏚️

Clara pasó frente a la casa del número 47 todos los días camino al trabajo. Era una construcción antigua, con ventanas polvorientas y una puerta de madera que parecía susurrar con el viento. Siempre sintió una extraña incomodidad al pasar por ahí, pero nunca le dio demasiada importancia… hasta que, una mañana, vio algo inquietante: una figura en la ventana del segundo piso que la observaba fijamente. Al día siguiente, la figura volvió a aparecer, pero esta vez levantó una mano y le hizo una señal para que se acercara.

Esa noche, Clara no pudo dormir. La imagen de aquella silueta seguía en su mente. Decidió volver a la casa y, sin saber por qué, empujó la puerta, que se abrió con un crujido. El interior estaba oscuro y frío. En el suelo había un viejo reloj que marcaba las 3:47 y una foto en blanco y negro de una mujer que se parecía sorprendentemente a ella. De repente, la puerta se cerró de golpe y una voz susurró: "Llevabas mucho tiempo ignorándome, Clara".

El pánico la invadió. Corrió hacia la puerta, pero no pudo abrirla. La figura apareció en el espejo del pasillo: era ella misma, pero con una expresión vacía. "Este es tu hogar ahora", dijo su reflejo mientras extendía la mano. Clara gritó, pero su voz se desvaneció. A la mañana siguiente, la casa del número 47 seguía allí, intacta. Pero ahora, en la ventana del segundo piso, se veía una mujer que observaba a los transeúntes… esperando a la siguiente persona curiosa.
