So for people who speak English as a 2nd language, today we're going to discuss some tips and vocabulary that we can use to make starting work at an English speaking employer as easy, simple, and stress free as possible. We'll hear some idioms, phrasal verbs, and more formal ways to express your ideas, to ask questions, to clarify information, and to introduce yourself. At the end we'll have a vocabulary quiz to see if you can remember what you learned, and a speaking challenge to get you talking!

In this episode we are going to learn 【Transportation 】in Chinese.

As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know already, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practice until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

中国的交通很方便。
zhōng guó de jiāo tōng hěn fāng biàn 。
The transportation in China is very convenient.
去上班可以坐地铁、坐公车、打车或者自己开车。
qù shàng bān kě yǐ zuò dì tiě 、 zuò gōng chē 、 dǎ chē huò zhě zì jǐ kāi chē 。
To get to work, you can take the subway, bus, taxi or drive yourself.
家离公司近的人可以走路去上班。
jiā lí gōng sī jìn de rén kě yǐ zǒu lù qù shàng bān 。
People who live close to the company can walk to work.
但是大城市人很多，堵车很厉害。
dàn shì dà chéng shì rén hěn duō ， dǔ chē hěn lì hài 。
But there are many people in big cities, and traffic jams are severe.
如果你赶时间，坐地铁最好。
rú guǒ nǐ gǎn shí jiān ， zuò dì tiě zuì hǎo 。
If you're in a hurry, it's best to take the subway.
因为地铁不会塞车，很准时。
yīn wèi dì tiě bú huì sāi chē ， hěn zhǔn shí 。
Because the subway does not have traffic jams, it is very punctual.
以前坐地铁用地铁卡，现在用手机就可以了。
yǐ qián zuò dì tiě yòng dì tiě kǎ ， xiàn zài yòng shǒu jī jiù kě yǐ le 。
Before we used subway card to take the subway, now using mobile phone is enough.

Today's phrase for ESL learners is to be "knocked" down.

It can mean anything which has been knocked over, it can also mean when someone is involved in a car accident.
Examples:
My little cat sometimes knocks things over (or knocks things down).
My friend was knocked down by a passing car.
