骆驼比羊高。
luò tuo shuō：“zhǎnɡ de ɡāo hǎo。”
骆驼说：“长得高好。”
yánɡ shuō：“bú duì，zhǎnɡ de ǎi hǎo。”
羊说：“不对，长得矮好。”
tā men zǒu dào yí ɡè huā yuán pánɡ biān。
他们走到一个花园旁边。
huā yuán sì miàn yǒu wéi qiánɡ，lǐ miàn zhònɡ le hěn duō shù，
花园四面有围墙，里面种了很多树，
mào shènɡ de zhī yè shēn chū le qiánɡ wài。 
茂盛的枝叶伸出了墙外。
luò tuo tái qǐ tóu，hěn rónɡ yì jiù chī dào le shù yè。
骆驼抬起头，很容易就吃到了树叶。
kě shì，yánɡ bó zi shēn de hěn chánɡ，yě chī bú dào。 
可是，羊脖子伸得很长，也吃不到。
luò tuo shuō：“nǐ kàn，ɡāo bǐ ǎi ɡènɡ hǎo bɑ！” 
骆驼说：“你看，高比矮更好吧！”
yánɡ yáo le yáo tóu，yě bù rèn shū。 
羊摇了摇头，也不认输。
tā men yòu zǒu le jǐ bù，
他们又走了几步，
kàn jiàn wéi qiánɡ yǒu ɡè hěn ǎi de mén，
看见围墙有个很矮的门，
yánɡ dé yì dì zǒu jìn mén，qù chī huā yuán lǐ de cǎo  
羊得意地走进门，去吃花园里的草。

骆驼跪下前腿，低下头，想进去，可是他太高了。

そこで、下人は、何をおいても差し当り
明日の暮しをどうにかしようとして――
いわばどうにもならない事を、どうにかしようとして、
とりとめもない考えをたどりながら、
さっきから朱雀大路にふる雨の音を、
聞くともなく聞いていたのである。
雨は、羅生門をつつんで、遠くから
ざあっという音を 集めてくる。
夕闇は次第に空を低くして、見上げると、
門の屋根が、斜めに突き出した甍の先に、
重たく薄暗い雲を支ている。
