Let's Pop, Pop, Popcorn!

Have you ever wondered what different kinds of celebrations are celebrated at the end of the year in different cultures? In honour of our German heritage we celebrate Heilig Abend and new this year, the Rauhnächte. In honour of our North American heritage we celebrate Christmas. And in the tradition of a Celtic past we celebrate the Feast of Lights at Winter Solstice.

Holiday Special. Today I’d like to share with you some end-of-year traditions we celebrate in our home which is a mixture of three cultures.

こんにちは！Atsushiです。
今日の天気は晴れ。
気温は26℃、暑いです。
他の地域では雨が強く降っているようです。

今日は都道府県シリーズ4つ目を話します。
今日は岩手県について、です。
岩手県は青森県の南、秋田県の東にあります。


大きさ、面積は、15,000km2
人口は、約1,190,000人

県の木　ナンブアカマツ
県の花　キリ
県の鳥　キジ

有名なご当地グルメは、(ご当地はその地域だけの、という意味です)

盛岡じゃじゃ麺です。これは、『白龍』というお店の人が戦前に、昔の満州（今の中国）で食べたものをもとに作ったようです。

そして、盛岡冷麺です。これは、朝鮮半島から日本に移住した人が盛岡で冷麺の販売をはじめたことがはじまりなようです。


最後にわんこそばです。
岩手では昔は米より蕎麦の栽培が盛んでした。
ですが、蕎麦は茹でなければならず一度にたくさん茹でる事もできません。そこで、何回にも分けて少しずつの蕎麦を出しておかわりしてもらう事で、そばを出す時間を短くしたようです。たくさんの蕎麦をゆで続けて何回にも分けて出すことで、みんながお腹一杯になるまで食べる事ができるのが「わんこそば」だそうです。


観光で有名なのは、
中尊寺金色堂(ちゅうそんじこんじきどう)ですかね。
お寺ですね。仏教思想の影響で中尊寺の庭は、極楽浄土をあらわしている、ともいわれています。
私も行ったことはありませんが、学校の歴史の授業で何度も聞いたことがあります。
これがある地域は世界遺産にもなっています。


個人的に興味があるのは、わんこそば、ですね。
そばが大好きなので、どれぐらい食べれるか、挑戦してみたいです。
