In informal settings, a definitive refusal might take the form of "not a chance" or "ain't gonna happen," perhaps even with a touch of camaraderie, as in "nah, mate." For matters requiring decorum, a formal approach may involve phrases like "I'm afraid the answer is no" or "I must decline," while adding regret, as in "regrettably, no," imparts a sense of genuine consideration. Politeness tempers the refusal in phrases such as "I'm sorry, but no" and "thank you for considering me, but I'll have to say no," expressing gratitude for the offer. The witty turn of phrase adds a touch of humor to the refusal, suggesting impossibility with expressions like "I'd sooner sprout wings and fly" or "when pigs fly." In more elevated circles, the upper class might communicate their refusal with statements like "I regret to inform you that the answer is in the negative" or "it would not be fitting, I'm afraid," while maintaining an air of politeness. For royalty, a refusal is conveyed with grace and tact, as in "one must respectfully decline" or "I cannot acquiesce to that request," underscoring the formal nature of the response. Ultimately, the choice of expression hinges on the context and the level of decorum required for the situation at hand.

As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know already, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practice until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

zhōng guó de jiāo tōng hěn fāng biàn 。
The transportation in China is very convenient.
去上班可以坐地铁、坐公车、打车或者自己开车。
qù shàng bān kě yǐ zuò dì tiě 、 zuò gōng chē 、 dǎ chē huò zhě zì jǐ kāi chē 。
To get to work, you can take the subway, bus, taxi or drive yourself.
家离公司近的人可以走路去上班。
jiā lí gōng sī jìn de rén kě yǐ zǒu lù qù shàng bān 。
People who live close to the company can walk to work.
但是大城市人很多，堵车很厉害。
dàn shì dà chéng shì rén hěn duō ， dǔ chē hěn lì hài 。
But there are many people in big cities, and traffic jams are severe.
如果你赶时间，坐地铁最好。
rú guǒ nǐ gǎn shí jiān ， zuò dì tiě zuì hǎo 。
If you're in a hurry, it's best to take the subway.
因为地铁不会塞车，很准时。
yīn wèi dì tiě bú huì sāi chē ， hěn zhǔn shí 。
Because the subway does not have traffic jams, it is very punctual.
以前坐地铁用地铁卡，现在用手机就可以了。
yǐ qián zuò dì tiě yòng dì tiě kǎ ， xiàn zài yòng shǒu jī jiù kě yǐ le 。
Before we used subway card to take the subway, now using mobile phone is enough.
