It really does take time, but I love it anyway. You made only one mistake: never say "more easier". You can say either "easier" or "more easy" (they mean the same). In your sentence, a third choice would be "easy": "I found it hard to do at first but it slowly grew easy." Gee, Molly, that's quite a compliment! I'll try to live up it.
