Absolutely. The term is very broad. It includes all land and all permanent structures or resources located on land. A lake is real estate. An island is real estate. All buildings and units within those buildings are real estate. The Eiffel Tower is real estate. Mount Vesuvius is real estate. Houses, apartments, buildings, and even the land underneath them all real estate. It doesn't have to be something that money can buy. A "real estate agent" is a person who buys and sells real estate, though you cannot find one who will sell you the Atlantic Ocean, at least not an honest one.
