This is really interesting and if anyone has better sources than Wiki Etymology please share! According to https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D9%82%D8%B1%D9%86 and https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/corner -- قرن means horn, and the proto-Semitic origin is "to be folded, doubled, opposed, equal"and قرن may come from Greek (χρόνος time). So this doesn't mean that English didn't come through Latin cornua. It might mean that it came from Latin, which came from Arabic (which might have come from Greek?). So now I'm wondering if there is more solid evidence on which was the original.
