Hi everyone! I just wanted to share with you an interesting fact about congratulations, which could be tricky for some learners. You see, when we gather together to celebrate someone's birthday or a holiday, we never use "Congratulations" and only say "Happy birthday!", "Happy New Year!", "Merry Christmas!", "Happy Thanksgiving!", etc. We say "Congratulations!", if we want to congratulate someone on a big event (getting a new job, getting married, graduating from university, job promotion and so on).
