辅导教师Yesterday a friend of mine got married, but the wedding took place in a small town near from the city I live so my boyfriend and I drove for a couple of hours to get to this town.
It was very nice, we had an amazing time, we danced, drank some cocktails and met with some old friends from college.

Yesterday a friend of mine got married, but the wedding took place in a small town near (far?) from the city I live (either, "near the city where I live," or, "far from the city where I live"), so my boyfriend and I drove for a couple of hours to get to this town.
It was very nice. We had an amazing time. We danced, drank some cocktails and met up with some old friends from college.

Nice! I think the last wedding I went to was my sister's in 2017. Had a blast (es decir, me divertí mucho.) and got to wear a nice suit!
