What are differences between the verbs 'Get', 'Catch', 'Pick' and 'Hold'? Is there an easy way to use them easily?

generally:
get ~ aquire something
catch ~ get something after chasing it, or pull it from the air before it touches the ground
pick ~ choose something, or pull it from a plant
hold ~ have in your hand or in your posession
