What does "selective" mean in this sentence? Many politicians benefited from a selective education. Thanks in advance.

The word "selective" in this sentence (just like "selective school") refers to schools that enroll 'only' the highest achieving students. Normally, in such schools, there's an entrance exam that can determine who can get in and who can not. I hope I was able to answer your question.
