Hello this is Stephanie and it's the first day I try to make an English Diary vlog. I’ll upload this video so that my friends and teachers can correct my mistakes. First of all, why did I decide to record my life in English? Alright, you may have found that my English Level is not so good. The best way to improve English skills - or other language skills - is speaking. If you could speak in English fluently, congratulations, you would have gotten an English brain which means you don’t need to translate your thinking from your mother tongue to English. Sometimes when a few overseas students come back to their motherland, a non-English speaking count, people around them find they are used to express themselves in an English way. The words, phrases and grammars of what they say in mother tongue are so stiff that it looks like they are using Google Translate. More generally, when they speak in their native language, they mix it with English because they can’t find a corresponding word to describe what they want to say. All of above indicates that they have an English brain. They think in English, speak English and even dive into English. But now, for me, I’m opposite. I always interrupt myself because I need time to think and organize my expressions. And before I speak English there is a more step than the English-speakers that I have to translate my idea from Chinese to English. So, I still need a long time to build my English brain. To archive this goal, I must practice and practice and practice. That’s why I decided to make a daily English diary.

Second, I think making an English diary vlog is a good way to keep a healthy lifestyle. We all have written diary in our childhood, and the experience of being judged boring. There is the same question in the English dairy vlog. If you want to make your vlog interesting, vivid and lively, you have to do a lot of things and finish a lot of tasks everyday. Only in this way, you can have something to talk about at the end of the day.
So for today, my first day to make an English diary vlog, I wrote my draft in the morning, then I did my dictation practice. The dictation material is the famous misogyny speech by Juila Gillard, who used to be the prime minister of Australia. Her high speed really confused me. But it’s  powerful and encouraging. Many sentences in this speech stuck in my mind. She said she would not be lectured about sexism and misogyny by the leader of opposition. She made an excellent satire which told the man should look into a mirror to see a misogynist criticized by himself. It is wonderful. 
Okay, I think it is long enough for today’s video. I’m going to read some literature so I have to say goodbye. See you!
