Some of these are very similar to English ones, but there are a couple of false friends I'll need to look out for.  Tomar el pelo sounds like the English pulling my hair out so I'm glad you included tirarse de los pelos.

No ver el pelo is similar to the expression I haven't seen hide nor hair of so-and-so.

Soltarse el pelo is similar to let your hair down.

Another expression comes to my mind: "por un pelo (or 'pelín')". It's used when you succeed or fail to do something by a short margin. I found a similar expression in English: "by a whisker".

As Melanie suggested in her comment, Let your hair down Is the phrase we use in English (Idiom number one).Let yourself go does not mean the same thing as let your hair down. Let yourself go means not properly take care of oneself. For example,If I'm a person who usually watches what I eat,Fixes my hair,Attends to my clothes, Etc. and you see me and I Have gained weight and look disheveled,You might say she Really let herself go
