Pronunciation: if you are older than 12, I would suggest you learn phonetic symbols before you approach the language now that pronunciation is a very important part of listening and speaking and it only costs you approximately 1-2 weeks only.  

Considering fluency in a language, you had better frequently listen to videos, movies and speak more to consolidate your skills in pronunciation and making sentences. 

Learn consonants first to have some basics

focus on similar consonants such as: /ae/and /ei/, /u/ and /u:/. It's quite the same when they're in words. Don't be afraid to give your own examples 

look up the vocabs by electronic dictionary. It may not relate, but a dictionary may not only help you see the meaning, the pronunciation but also the record for you to repeat. I've tried and It helps a lot

For pronunciation: focus VERY closely on how the VOWELS are pronounced.
