Well, personlly, I don't think veganism is good for human's health as we talk about following that way of life constantly, cause a human's organism needs different organic materials which we can't get by eating only vegetables and fruits ...However, doctors say it's healthy to reject products of animal origin for a short period of time, for example, Fasting...during this period an organism has time to clean itself from toxins.

I think what Josegal said is important. While I have been eating a plant-based diet for the last few years, I am hesitant to use the word vegan because I am not convinced of all aspects of the philosophy.

Nevertheless, I believe that a plant-based diet would benefit human health and the environment. Linda notes that some land cannot be used for crops, but that argument only applies to a very small percentage of meat. After all, if it were possible to meet the current enormous demand for meat using grass, that is what would be happening, right? It would be the simplest way. But, it is no more possible to support a huge population of animals without agriculture than it is to support a huge population of humans.

I hope scientists are successful developing lab-grown meat and milk. It has the potential to greatly help the environment and reduce animal suffering. It might still not be healthy to eat those products in large amounts, but it might be an improvement over the factory-farmed variety.

Everyone can eat what they want, I think it's a personal choice, but it's certainly not something I would consider for myself. As for destroying the planet, a lot of food is wasted. Restaurants and shops thrash food constantly and it's a shame. So I try not to waste any food myself at least. But I wish something was done about it on a bigger scale. I am also concerned about the way animals are kept and fed, because if that's not done right then the meat is unhealthy. Therefore I buy organic meat and dairy whenever possible.

We are destorying the planet, but it doesn't have anything to do with eating meat.

I've been a vegan for 6 years, + vegetarian for 5 years before that. Originally, it was for moral/ethical reasons, and then also for environmental reasons. Of course, being vegan is not necessarily the most environmentally friendly diet -- ex. you can't grow crops on rangeland, so you might as well graze livestock. It's become such a normal part of my life that I don't even think about it anymore. But, I do think I want to be more comfortable eating non-vegan food because I want to travel, which makes being a vegan very difficult. So I might start making exceptions for dairy and eggs when I travel, although I think I will always be at least a vegetarian :)
