No one should ever feel like they NEED to be in a relationship, in my opinion. Happiness should come first and foremost from yourself. If you need someone else to be happy, then that relationship probably will have problems in the long run since the needy person might have low self-esteem issues and can become clingy/obsessive (speaking from personal experience). I think before you enter into a relationship, you owe it to the other person to be in a good place personally with your own self-confidence and knowledge of self. Often times I find people are more in love with the IDEA of being in a relationship rather than the actual person they are dating. Being single used to be a stigma (especially for older people), but in America at least it is starting to become more acceptable and even celebrated. You have to live with yourself every day, so before you choose someone to wake up to every morning make sure you are happy with your own self-identity.
