Photos vs real life appearance.

Hello, people of the forum. I'm interested in knowing your opinion on this matter.

Do you think it's a good idea to choose a pretty photo of you on social media or on a dating website?

I'll use italki as an example. I got attracted by a pretty photo of a teacher here blond hair, beautiful face, no wrinkles etc, so I went over to watch her introduction and then I almost got a heart attack. Who am I staring at right now? That was my first thought. There was a huge difference between a possibly photoshopped photo and the video recording of the same exact person. Holy shoot, damn, I couldn't believe it. 

Same goes for dating sites by the way. On tinder you swipe right, you like the person and then you meet them and wish your eyes weren't working at that moment.

I deem you'd better focus on your grammar books and aim at improving your English rather than messing around with neighbor's photos. Bottom line: iron out your mistakes than staring at other's wrinkles. No offence, dude.

Sorry, am I going to work as a proofreader? Why do I need English without mistakes? 

I know business owners from Europe who make mistakes constantly and are still able to make thousands and thousands of dollars.
