The wearing of a uniform should be compulsory for High school Students. Are you for or against?

I think there are many pros and cons about the wearing of a school uniform.
Are student obliged to wear a School uniform in your country or city ?
What do you think of that?

In my country the wearing of a School uniform is mandatory for both, private and public schools.
I think it is a good thing. Firstly, because student don't need to concern about what they are going to wear to school every day. Secondly, uniforms are less expensive than the variety of clothes students would have needed.

There was a parent-teachers' association in my school. Parents made a desicion that pupils must wear some kind of uniform. It were formal business suits for boys and dresses for girls. I wore suits until i graduated from middle school (5-9 grades). In high school (10-11 grades)  i began to wear clothes that i wanted.
All this story with suits led only to the one thing. I don't wear suits anymore, because i hate them.

I live in America. I went to a public school. We didn't have school uniforms. I'm for and also against the idea. I got bullied in school partially due to what I wore. I think a uniform would have helped lessen that. Though I don't think with a uniform you can really 'be yourself' and show your individuality.

I don't really agree that it is better for poor families. On the contrary.  It's forcing parents to buy uniforms that may be expensive, when they could instead buy cheaper clothes for their children. I don't see how forcing someone to buy a particular product can be good for their budget.

No, there are not pros and cons about wearing. Speak honestly, please: "there are pros and cons about forcing people to wear it."

I also could force you to work and you won't need to be concerned about finding job. And I could force you to marry you you wouldn't be concerned about chosing wife.

I just showed my case. Parents thought that suits would inculcate in us a formal business style. But as the result of this dress code i don't wear suits anymore and prefer casual clothes. Forcing led to the converse effect.
