We have our traditional New Year ritual which is called "Norooz" in Iran. As you know, Iran is the oldest country of the world and we have around 6000 years history. I'm not sure but I believe that the Norooz is the first New Year ritual. There are a blend of funny customs behind Norooz but each of them has a philosophy. Recently, we have more than 30 days as holy days for new year but this action doesn't have any pgilosophy behind it :)
People start these rites a couple of days before the new year. For example,we have fireworks at the end wednesday of the year. People start to cleaning their houses by washing the carpets, curtains, and walls ...
Some people prefer to paint whole the house.
In the final night of the year, we usually eat fish with rice together with fresh vegtables.
Parents give some money to kids as a new year present( this is the best part of new year). And we go to our relevants home to hang out with them and the gracious host prepare delicious feed for the guests.
After 13 days from new year people go to the natural parks or the other area outside to hold a picnic. And also many many other works ...
