I have been studying English whole live, but I really think that only in the approximately in the last  year and a half has been useful. In my country we study English since school but the problem is how we learn English. We don´t practice listening and speaking, the main topic in English is grammar and in my opinion this does very easy to pass exams.When I decided to study English a year and a half I thought  that I had to practice with people for improving my conversation  skills and nowadays I can say yes, I can keep a conversation in English. Several years ago this was impossible. My desire is to improve every day.

I subscribe to what my namesake and compatriot says above. Furthermore in my case, in the latest September I started listening to news inEnglish at the BBC, Al Jazeera and Euronews, to read the Guardian and also some books. I think I'm updating my English although I need to do some course.

     My answer would depend on what you meant by the term of learning. If it means learning the language intensively and with a structured lesson plan, then it was long time ago.
     I learned it since I was 6 years old. English is a compulsory subject at school. However, I can't recall how many hours I spent for learning it at school and at a language course. After grafuated from high school, I had never learned it on purpose.
      I would say I've never learned it since then.

I started english since when i was in the midlle school untill now. 
Previously, i just learn a litle bit and not intense. 
For now i wanna speak fluenty in english.
