I had it once. Just broke up 2 weeks ago. I was in a relationship with an American guy (I am living in Indonesia) For 3 years in long distance. We met in person once and went for a vacation to Singapore.

We were so close and were a good team in everything. But now we are back as strangers.

In my opinion, Online Dating is not impossible. A lot of couple prove it out there.

It back to the person in the relationship itself. Willing to fight for it and make it work or not.

In my case, it didn't. You know, I once thought it would work until I saw him in person. It was a disappointing experience. It was not because of his looks. I am not a person who look for handsome men but it was more because of something else. When I saw him in person, I fainted with disappointment. LOL

Sometimes, it is easy to be fooled with what you see onscreen. Since that terrible experience, I promised myself never to do online dating. Of course, it might work with some people and sometimes it will never work. In my case,I prefer someone whom I can see in person and spend time with like the real deal. There are times you cannot trust the person right in front of you, what more with someone VIRTUAL? It is different when you can bring the man to family gatherings and it is different when you are just using Skype. If it takes time to get to know someone who is very present in your life, someone you met online even if you have been talking a lot can be a total stranger once you meet them. I am pretty OLD SCHOOL, even if I work as an online teacher, I do not believe in online dating and I NEVER will. I am someone who likes to get to know the person right in front of me, not someone on Skype, WhatsApp or whatever app you can think of.

I had friends who married someone they met online, the guy was a womaniser, she married him after knowing him just for 2 weeks. Although they are still together, the man is still a womaniser.

The experience is different for each person.

PS.. There are a lot of men who sent me a message but if I haven't seen them in person, I will never entertain them.. I don't like wasting my time. 😁😁😁 To temporary people.

A friend of mine (a girl) used datign sites for finding partners for party games.

Also she once used it to find a boy to go to the cinema with her. He almost ran away during the conversation online: he decided she is "too good to be true" and must be some bearded man making fun of him.

After this they actually were dating each other for a while.
