Mayroong 28 titik ang Alpabetong Filipino. Mayroon itong limang (5) patinig at (23) katinig. Mula sa abakadang may 20 titik, idinagdag ang walong titik na C, F, J, Ñ, Q, V, X, Z sa ating Alpabetong Filipino.

The Filipino Alphabet has 28 letters. It has five (5) vowels and (23) consonants. From the 20 letter of the Abakada, the eight letter C, F, J, Ñ, Q, V, X, Z were added to our Filipino Alphabet.

Alibata - the old alphabet of the Philippines

The alibata composed of seventeen letters, the fourteen letter is consonant and the three letter is vowel. 

When the Spanish arrived. The writing of the old alibata transferred to the word of the romans started in 1600 and the linguistic history written in the time of Romanization. The alibata change and called ABAKADA.

Because of the fastest changing of technology and science, different tribe language and foreign language start changing the Filipino language. That's why the 20 letter of the Abakada is now 28 letters.
