Yes and No. If someone makes a mistake, then they probably should not be punished for the rest of their lives. On the other hand, some people keep 'pushing the boundaries', get many second chances, and end up thinking that 'the rules do not apply to them'.

If you're talking about someone who forgot to return your call, then, sure, give him another chance. But, if you're talking about someone who steals from you, then, no, you don't give him another chance because he'll do it again.

Actually I think there aren't second chances, because the second time the conditions are different than they were in the first one, so the "second chance" is rather a NEW opportunity.
