If I want to Skype with some one from Italy but I live in America what would be the best time for them and me to webcam? I ask becuase there is a 6 hour difference and I want it to work out for both of us.

What's wrong with asking them?
Unless both of you want to be up very late/early, it looks like the call will have to happen sometime in your morning, up till after lunch. I guess on the Italian side, after work would suit them best, so just ask if that's fine for them (that is, if you can find the time in your morning schedule too).
There's a nifty program called Sun Clock 7, which is free and presents the time differences in a geochron (world map) format. Just search for it; it's easy to find.
