Vancouver or Toronto? Which city is better for living?

I'm applying to a language school in Canada because I want to practice and improve my English, but I don't know which city is better: Vancouver or Toronto? Some friends told me Vancouver is better than Toronto because in Vancouver the weather is great, there are a lot of natural views, forests, mountains and beaches,etc. I have been told it is an ideal place for foreigners, visitors who love the outdoors and that it is a quiet place to live. On the other hand, Toronto is a city that never sleeps. There are many modern and bustling buildings, restaurants, night clubs and stores for young people to hang out and have fun. Toronto is also cheaper than Vancouver. For traveling to other tourist places like Niagara Falls, Montreal, New York and others,Toronto is nearer than Vancouver.

Friends who live in Canada, or who have lived in Canada as a visitor, can you give me any advice? Which city is better, Vancouver or Toronto? I will appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

It seems that you don't need to go either Vancouver or Toronto for improving English. Your English is already wonderful!

Given the choice I'd choose Vancouver.  But what do I know?  I live in Winnipeg!

 

But you're right, Vancouver has much more natural beauty, nicer weather but more rain, and it is more expensive.  But Toronto is not cheap either. Both are vast cities where you can get lost in the din of people & cars.

Honestly, it depends on you. If you like nature, scenic views, the mountains and the ocean, choose Vancouver. BC is beautiful, very green! Whistler, Banff, Tofino - the Island, all nice places to visit. There are gorgeous camping spots, Seattle is close, you can drive to Portland or take a 14 hour road trip to Northern Cali. In terms of night life, Vancouver has been given the name 'no fun city,' but it has sooo much potential! Although, it is mild in Vancouver, it rains all the time, even in the summer. We still have nice beaches - Toronto does not. 

 

Toronto has a better night life, it's close to Montreal and about 8-9 hours away from New York - all these cities have an awesome night life and are arguably more fashion forward. I felt there was more culture to experience in Toronto..Montreal and Toronto have summer festivals that are a lot of fun. Although, last year BC hosted two major music festivals.
