Hacking German: German B2 Passed. Thank you iTalki!

<em>Read about my five month experience hacking German here: http://www.italki.com/discussion/87346</em>

Hey team!

I'm thrilled to have just found out that I passed my German Goethe B2 certification! Woop.

My final grade was 79 / 100 (or Satisfactory)

According to Wikipedia this works out as roughly a B+ in English/American marking schemes and broke down as follows:

 - Listening - 23 / 25

 - Reading - 20 / 25

 - Writing - 18 / 25

 - Speaking - 18 / 25

I can't give a big enough shout out to the iTalki for their patience, encouragement and help. I wish I had started taking lessons and writing on here earlier on in my learning - my mistake shows itself clearly in the weaker scores on writing and speaking.

It's moments like these that make you remember that the hours it takes to learn a language really are worth it - I can't tell you how many times (weekly if not daily) I felt like I was making no progress but it all mounts up in the end!

So keep up the hard work Ladies and Gentlemen! And remember:

<em>"Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you were when you woke up. Discharge your duties faithfully and well. Step by step you get ahead, but not necessarily in fast spurts. But you build discipline by preparing for fast spurts. Slug it out one inch at a time, day by day. At the end of the day - if you live long enough - most people get what they deserve."</em>

— Charlie Munger

Lots of love,

Arthur

Congratulations! Your story has pushed me to work harder on German, and I started to find teachers on italki because of your recommendations and your compliment to the teachers :)
