Hi Community!
I'm looking for a good book on learning Japanese. Right now I've got my very old teaching book from my school lessons, "Japanisch Schritt für Schritt" (978-3732299744) and "Japanisch im Sauseschritt" (978-4990038472), but I'm looking for a more professional one...
I've read about げんき (978-3835940406) and みんなの日本語 (978-3835940307), but I can't decide which to buy. I'd prefer a book with explanations in German, but that's not set in stone.
Thanks for your help!
I don't know about Genki, but Minna no Nihongo has a German version.

In MNN, the main book and the translation and grammar book are separated. There are also many other books for practicing reading, writing, etc.
I used it and I'm happy with it. Only the Spanish translation was not very good, but can't tell about the German one.
It may be a bit chaotic at the beginning. To start you'll need the shokyū 1 (elementary 1). Both main book (honsatsu) and the translation and grammatical notes (honyaku).
Thank you!
