The Rain
I'm watching a danish series on Netflix called The Rain. It's a very intrigating Sci-Fic story about a mortal virus that spreads in the rain (hence the name). People who expose to the contaminated water die instantly, having convulsions, and foaming by the mouth. It's a kind of "the end of the world tale", one of those you keep waiting the moment things start to make sense.
*Spoiler alert*
There were a bunkers ready for that armageddon, in which a father leaved his family to protect it from the rain. It's how the story starts... The mom gets out, and dies. The kids grows up alone, and stay inside the bunker for seven years. There was a girl, called Simone, and a boy, called Rasmus.
One day, they decide to leaave the bunker, and the adventure starts. In the city, there are hungry people that seem zombies, and in the remote places isolated groups surviving. They find out Rasmus is imune, and it make us think he might be "the key" against the virus. But, actually, he has pure virus in his veins, and it evolves like he had super powers.
Simone frist try to cure him, apparently the same as their father did. When she fails, she tries to kill him, to prevent more deaths. She fails again. And, now, he has a girlfriend who also became a host of the virus. I guess in the next season they're going to be like a anti-hero couple.
It's complicated, because as the virus evolves, it controlls the person completely. In the second season, Rasmus has hallucinations. So, that is affecting his mind, which means changing who he are (or used to be).

The Rain
I have currently started watching a Danish series on Netflix titled, The Rain. It is a rather intriguing Sci-Fi story about a lethal virus that is found within, and spread by, the rain (hence, the name). The mere touch of the contaminated water causes those exposed to it to suffer from convulsions, to foam at the mouth, and then, to quickly die. It is definitely an "End of the World tale"--one where you are dropped in the middle of it, and have to piece things together for the story to start making sense. Anyway, this is my understanding of it so far… *Spoiler alert*
People have been living in bunkers, which they moved into in an effort to survive an Armageddon-type catastrophe of some sort. The father of one of the families there has left the shelter to protect them somehow from the rain (yes, I know it is confusing, but that is how the story starts!). His wife later leaves the bunker, too, and dies. As a result, the kids—a boy named Ramus, and a girl named Simone—are forced to grow up alone, and remain inside the bunker for several years. One day, they finally decide to leave the bunker, and the adventure starts. Out in the closest neighboring city, there are people who seem to have become flesh-eating zombies, but there are also other survivors, such as themselves, who exist in various isolated and remote places.
Events happen that allow the other survivors to find out Rasmus is immune from the virus, and everyone thinks that he might be “the key” against it. Actually, though, in truth, Rasmus has a pure form of the virus flowing in his veins, and it causes him to evolve as if he has super powers. Simone, at first, tries to cure him, apparently much as their father had, but when she fails to do so, she tries to kill him instead, to prevent him from causing even more deaths. However, she also fails in doing that also. Later, Ramus gets a girlfriend who also becomes a host of the virus (I guess that in the next season, they are going to be like an “anti-hero” couple). It is complicated because as the virus develops, it changes and eventually controls the person completely.
At the start of the second season, Rasmus is hallucinating, so we surmise that the virus is affecting his mind, which means he is changing from whom he is, and what he used to be. I wish that I could tell you more, but unfortunately, that is as far as the series has gone so far! Anyway, if you happened to be into the genre, or my brief synopsis above has aroused your curiosity, I would highly recommend that you watch it since I have found it to be very entertaining.*/**
Hi, Laryssa. Good job! Whatever changes I made were to allow your sentences to sound more natural to my native ears, to clarify your thoughts, and for ease of reading. My sincerest apologies if I have misinterpreted. I hope that this helps you, Jonathan.
*Titles are italicized, underlined, or put in quotation marks. The abbreviation for science fiction is Sci-Fi. The use of “mortal virus,” while correct according to the definition of “mortal,” IMHO, it is not a construction we would use in English, nor one that I have encountered before, thus, my change. To “die instantly” would mean that my body is lifeless and drops to the ground--nothing more, nothing less—thus, my change to clarify what happens before that occurs. I also would not use the phrase, “instantly die,” as other things happen first What would cause me to instantly die would be something like being being hit by a speeding bus, crushed by a 20-ton boulder, or having my head chopped off in a guillotine. Do you see the difference?
**As you ended rather abruptly, I added the last two sentences to provide a better one…
