A letter to an English-speaking friend
Dear Jane,
How are you doing? We have not talked to each other for a while and hope you are really doing great.
I am writing to share you a piece of good news that I have recently gotten a new job offer in a major trading company as a senior account manager. I am very happy about it as the new company provides me a good opportunity for personal career development. My position has been a promotion to a higher level with better pay. As you know I used to work very long hours with many responsibilities for my previous company. I worked very hard there for more than 5 years, but unfortunately I didn’t make much progress nor had any feeling of personal achievement. The new job looks more promising and hopefully it will meet my satisfaction.
By the way, I went to Australia with my family for summer vacation and bought you a small gift. What about having a dinner together on this Friday evening? And We really need to have a good chat. Please let me know soon!
My Best Wishes,
Jessie
