A Literary Analysis of The Sniper Part 2 The point of view of the story was Third Person Omniscient which we were able to enter The Sniper’s mind and reveal all thought and feelings. This point of view made the mood intense and excited. As well as description of the surroundings in the story. It made the reader imagine how the whole situation was. I think if the point of view was in First Person perspective the impression of the story would be a little bit different. A symbol in the short story was when The Sniper filled with sadness. When he shot those first two persons he did not show any sign of empathy but suddenly, his fierce love of battle died in him when he killed his last enemy. Another symbol was when The Sniper decided that the person he killed was a good shooter and he wondered if he knew his enemy. I think the themes in the short story were disagreement and war. When two partners were disagreeing on whether a matter, it led often to war. People kill other people to get what they want and what they think is right. A good example was the Republicans and the Irish Free Staters got into a civil war where both sites fought for their ideology. Unfortunately, today there are still a lot of wars around the world. I think that the reason is they do not have any hope and that is why they use war as a means to get power and control. But at the end, it does not solve anything. It just ends up carnage which is a big shame because a lot of innocent people got killed. We have to tolerate that everybody think different. On the other hand, war can be positive. If a country is under corruption, the inhabitants would fight for to get back their country or for a better government. However, I still stand for that war is not a way for solve any problems. Both partners should sit down and discuss how to solve the issues. I think it was an exciting, intense story. The end of the story came as a surprised to me although there were some symbols in the story. I think the author wrote this story because he wanted to other to read how the situation was at the Irish Civil War. Sadly, the effects of this conflict are still felt in Ireland today.

A Literary Analysis of The Sniper Part 2

The point of view of the story was Third Person Omniscient, by which we were able to enter The Sniper’s mind and be privy to all his thoughts and feelings. This point of view made the mood intense and exciting, as was the description of the surroundings in the story. It made the reader imagine how the whole situation was. I think if the point of view was in First Person perspective the impression of the story would be a little bit different.

Third Person Omniscient means we get an insight into the minds of all the characters. If we're only following the sniper, then Third Person Limited was used. I got a feeling you were actually describing Third Person Limited, but since you've read the story and I haven't, I'll trust your judgement.

The last sentence made we wonder: different in what way?

A symbolic moment in the short story was when The Sniper was filled with sadness. When he shot those first two persons he did not show any sign of empathy, but his fierce love of battle died suddenly in him when he killed his last enemy. Another symbolic moment was when The Sniper decided that the person he had killed was a good shooter and he wondered if he knew his enemy.

A symbol/symbolic moment signifying what? Did you actually mean a highlight, climax, or significant moment?

I think the themes in the short story were disagreement and war. When two characters in the story were disagreed on over whether a matter, it often led to war. People kill other people to get what they want and do what they think is right. A good example was when the Republicans and the Irish Free Staters got into a civil war where both sides fought for their own ideology.

Unfortunately, today there are still a lot of wars around the world. I think that the reason is that they do not have any no hope, and that is why so they use war as a means of gaining power and control. Yet in the end, it does not solve anything. It just ends up in carnage, which is a big shame because a lot of innocent people have been killed. We have to tolerate the fact that everybody thinks differently.

On the other hand, war can be positive. If a country is under corruption, the inhabitants would fight for to get back their country or for a better government. However, I still stand for maintain that war is not a way for solving any problems. Both partners should sit down and discuss how to solve the issues.

I think The Sniper is an exciting, and intense story. The end of the story came as a surprised to me although there were some symbols in the story. I think the author wrote this story because he wanted to others to read how the situation was during the Irish Civil War. Sadly, the effects of this conflict are still felt in Ireland today.

Good work.
