Writing task 1 - Ielts The graph reveals the number of people who from India & India and West Indies entered England from 1940 to 1970. Overall, it is evident that immigrants from these three countries rose over the 30-year period. The biggest figure was recorded in immigrants of West Indies in 1960. In 1940, there was a small amount of people relocating to the UK from India & Pakistan and West Indies, with 1 thousand and two thousand people respectively. From 1940 to 1956 saw the number of immigrant from West Indies climbed steadily to 18 thousand, while a minimally growth was recorded in people relocating England from India & Pakistan, with approximate 7 thousand of immigrant falling into this category. From 1958 to 1960 experienced a rapid rise in people entering England from West Indies, from 9 thousand to reach a peak at 37 thousand. Conversely, immigrant from India & Pakistan fell steadily to 7 thousand, before increasing exponentially by 18 thousand of people. Over the final ten years of period, the number of immigrant of West Indies plunged from 37 thousand to 8 thousand. In contract, people arrived the UK from India & Pakistan witnessed a marked fluctuation, however, the trend was upward to finish period with 27 thousand of people.
