the word "complicated" here is the past of "complicating" (فعل ماضى), and yes, it's not read the same way, the "tashkeel" differs, but it's the same letters :)

Well you don't really read it the same pay attention to الشكل Also as far as i know Complicated = معقد عقد means made it complicated.
