SOME SIMPLE KNOWLEDGES OF SHANGHAI （2） In the Modern Chinese History, there were plenty of important historical incidents was happened in Shanghai. In the First Opium War, which was happened between 1840 and 1842, General Chenhuacheng lost his life in a fierce battle. Certainly, he was a national hero. So there is a memorial hall of him in Baoshan District. In 1921, the Communist Party of China had been founded in Shanghai .On April 12th,1927, Chiang Kai-shek ordered his army to massacre the Communist Party members.Before long, he established his government in Nanjing. On January 28th, 1932, Japanese army raided Chinese army, it was named Shanghai incident of 28th, 1932. In 1949, the People’s Liberation Army occupied Shanghai and Shanghai People’s government had been established. Certainly, Shanghai is also an international and modern metropolis. It has two international airpots:Pudong Airpot and Hongqiao Airpot. Four railway stations: Shanghai Railway Station, Shanghai South Railway Station, Shanghai West Railway Station and Hongqiao High-railway Station. A big steel company: Baosteel . 14 metro lines have been builded since 1990’s and some new metro lines will be builded in the near future. Some specialists said that Shanghai needed 20 metro lines at least. There are some big business centre in Shanghai. East Nanjing Road is very famous as a pedestrian street. Huaihai Road is a long street and has some historical building. The tomb of Songqingling and Shanghai Library are located in the street. Xujiahui is also a big business centre and has a Catholic Church. Jing’an Temple is small but very famous and popular. It’s surrounded by plenty of stores. The same to the Zhongshan Park. The people who live in Shanghai are lucky. Nobody can believe that it is a piece of news to get married with a foreigner. You can see lots of foreigners in Shanghai everyday . I love Shanghai very much. But nothing is perfect. One day, I had my lunch with a friend in a restaurant. He told me that he slept terribly last night. “Why?” I asked. “My neighbor remodels his apartment at six o’clock every morning!” He answered. ” Do you have a gun?” I said. ” Gun? Why?” ” Yes!
