A Bad Bet!
Good Morning!
I am going to Singapore for new years and my friend bet me that I couldn't learn more Mandarin than him leading up to and by the end of my trip.
Will anyone speak Mandarin with me?!
I want to learn as much as I can before New Years!

If you go to China then you will learn Mandarin a lot quicker than he will or if you find someone on here to talk Mandarin with you.

Notes: 1. I think the first sentence is better split into two sentences as it's a little long.
2. If you want to learn Mandarin, visiting China would be much more productive than visiting Singapore. Or use italki to find a teacher or language partner! I have found that in Singapore, most people know English, so if you try to speak with the local Chinese there, they will often reply to you in English, which is the national language. Also, Singapore has a sizeable proportion of the population that speak other Chinese dialects. Enjoy your trip to Singapore!
