Traffic - short essay

Nowadays, traffic congestion is common. Because of slowing traffic, people’s moods deteriorate and their workplace performance also considerably diminish.
Through the reduction of car traffic, the rationalization of freight transport, the development of public transport and the improvement of conditions for cycling this situation can be radically changed. (When you connect words with "and" they must be the same type of word: Noun, verb, adjective etc.   "Improving" is a verb so I changed it to "improvement" which is a noun)
A number of international examples demonstrate that a wider range of participation of the railway can reduce the load on urban and suburban roads and the environmental damage is decreased; furthermore, the travel time is reduced.
There are more ways the large number of cars on the road could be reduced. The introduction of higher parking charges can contribute to the changing of traffic patterns.
The number of P + R car parks should be expanded. These car parks allow those people who come from outside districts to park their cars in public transport hubs and then they can take public transportation.
